August News and Information for North Cyprus
Eclipse At around 1.30pm on 1st August Cyprus witnessed an eclipse of the sun. This is the first time in around 2.5 years that a full eclipse will be visible. The eclipse which will start over Canada then pass across Greenland, Siberia and Mongolia before finishing at the silk route in China.
A few years ago Cyprus saw a partial eclipse when the sun was shadowed by the moon creating a lunar shadow on the earth.
